Contrast House

With a clear visual direction for their new home - this striking modern family home utilises a simple pared back palette to create maximum impact. With the main spaces predominantly featured on the ground floor, the 4 bedroom home is comfortable for a growing family, featuring an open plan living that connects directly to the alfresco. The upper floor creates a retreat for the parents, with the master bedroom, robe and ensuite located off a study nook break-out space at the landing.

With entertainment at its heart, the 3.8m long island bench provides the perfect hub for friends and family to gather, while the scullery features a bar nook discreetly hidden behind pocket doors.

The interior palette is mostly monochromatic, and features bold porcelain benchtops and plinths, black timber cabinets and jewel-like feature lighting accents throughout. This is tied together with the simple burnished concrete floor, black steel elements, white walls and metallic finish charcoal bricks.

It would be a hard task to take all of our ideas, our “must haves”, keep us on budget plus design a home that is functional to our growing family but they delivered so much more than what we could ever have imagined.
